LaVon and Dennis had their professional lives in Stockton, California, but they were involved with a church community an hour away in Modesto, California. Because it would be hard for some of their friends to make it, if just one service was held, a service was held in each city, one at Holy Cross Methodist Church in Stockton on Saturday, and the other on Sunday at The Church of the Brethren in Modesto. In keeping with Dennis's wishes, his body was cremated (on Friday June 9) and the celebration of his life followed with the two services the next two days: |
